In-Service training
The Training Institute for Prison and Probation Services provides supplementary training required for specialist prison and probation duties for all prison and probation service professionals. The contents, objectives and methods of supplementary training support the core duties associated with prison and probation services. They increase prison officers’ professional competence and support staff development.
Training themes
1. Management and interpersonal skills
Training new members of staff and acting as a civil servant.
2. Contact work
Interaction and working with customers when executing sentences.
3. Programme work
Programmes designed to lower the risk of recidivism.
4. Safety and security
Personal and communal safety and use of force.
5. Resource planning
Training provided by the central administration on current themes.
Registeration
Registration for supplementary training is now through the judicial administration’s intranet.
